Base of Support Model

BOS cover photo

Hey all!

Today we are discussing a model I use often when teaching a patient WHY they fall or have balance issues. This model is called the Base of Support (BOS) Model, and it does a wonderful job of getting the patient on the same page as the clinician while getting them to buy into the plan of care. Although I could have written about this model, it is far easier to just do a video on the topic. So that is what I did! Enjoy!

Thanks for watching this BOS model video, and I hope you picked up a tidbit or two to enhance your own practice. Comment below and let me know if you have ever used a model like this. Do you think we can improve upon this model? How would you explain this concept to a patient?

Happy falling!
