About the SoF Creator
Brent Pritt is a native Californian by birth, but now lives in Massachusetts. He graduated from the University of New England, Portland, Maine in 2020 with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. He currently works as a full-time outpatient PT in the North Shore area of Boston and runs and follows his passion for all things balance through SoF.
The Science of Falling Story
Brent's journey into the Science of Falling started in 2020 during the Covid lockdowns. He wanted to start a project that stemmed from his strong interest in movement, parkour, and physical therapy. He recognized the need for proper falling techniques, balance skills, and corrective exercises to help prevent injuries and improve functionality after noticing gaps in standard medical practice. This led to the creation of Science of Falling (SoF), a platform where Brent shares his knowledge and his personal journey in balance, falling, and healthy aging.
Originally, SoF focused on teaching healthcare professionals about safe falling techniques and the latest research in the balance realm, but Brent's vision has broadened. He now aims to change how people age, emphasizing prevention to avoid balance issues, falling problems, and general pitfalls of aging. Brent believes that prevention is better than treatment and encourages individuals to take steps toward a healthier, more balanced life before they are forced to. His aim is to not only help people elongate their lifespan, but their healthspan too.
With extensive experience and a deep understanding of movement science, Brent is a recognized expert in his field. His commitment to enhancing quality of life through innovative and preventive strategies is central to Science of Falling. Join Brent on this journey to learn how effective wellness strategies can enhance your health, prevent injuries, and promote graceful aging.
